By Hoem Seiha
Entrepreneurs start their own business as a way to create wealth, following their dream of excellence and passion for certain business ideas. They typically have a leadership attitude that leads them to leading, influential and even financially successful persons.
Example of entrepreneurs can be given an example to Mr. Chy Sila, founder of CIDC Information Technology and co-founder of CBM Corporation Co., Ltd.. He is an enormously successful young entrepreneur in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Another entrepreneur can be addressed to Mr. Kuy Wat, Founder & CEO of Vtrust Property Group and Park Café. He is another successful entrepreneur.
When coming up to this point, the question is, “what makes a person entrepreneur”?
Entrepreneurs have different mindset from that of employees. The nature of entrepreneur mindset makes those people entrepreneurs, while it is not so surprising when the nature of employee mindset makes them employees.
Mindset, as the term implies, is simple and straightforward. It refers to how people think of or believe in a particular thing and thus leads them to a certain attitude, mental tendency or habit. Mindset of a person is difficult to alter.
Entrepreneurs think of the excellence. They have a clear vision of, passion for, and big dream about financial success. They pursue their dream of financial freedom, success, and opportunity and are determined to achieve their set goals.
They dare take a risky leap and extend themselves out of the comfort zone, lead by optimism and self-belief of possibility. They work hard, spending 10 hours or so more than the usual working hours for most employees.
Entrepreneurs are the leaders. They always take the first steps in doing things that other people do not bother to do. Their entrepreneurial spirits make them the leading persons who build or create one thing that benefit most of the people.
Entrepreneurs do not work for money, as it is done by employees. However, entrepreneurs start their own business through their innovative, creative ideas so that this business makes money for them.
Again, all the characteristics—vision, passion, determination, risk, optimism, hard work and habitual system, persistence, innovative, leadership and belief—make those people entrepreneurs. In the next section, you will study each of the characteristics of entrepreneurs.
